Sidewalk Champions is a book of black and white street photography by Suitcase Joe. Suitcase Joe spent nearly a decade getting to know Skid Row—the largest unhoused community in America. Over the years he gained trust and formed friendships within this community and has been provided with unprecedented access to their daily lives, allowing him to intimately document their inner workings through his ethnographic writing and photography. Sidewalk Champions contains 120 photos selected from the last 5 years of his work documenting life on Skid Row.

Suitcase Joe is also an activist and advocate for the rights of all unhoused individuals. He co-founded the Suitcase Joe Foundation, to serve the people of Skid Row with day-to-day needs and to provide support services for getting into long-term housing. Proceeds from the sale of Sidewalk Champions will help support the Suitcase Joe Foundation and directly aid unhoused residents of Skid Row
